Dr. Berger earned his medical degree from Cornell University Medical College after completing undergraduate studies at Brown University. He fulfilled Fellowship training in cornea and refractive eye surgery and external disease at the Jules Stein Eye Institute in Los Angeles and was Chief Resident in ophthalmology at the Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital. Dr. Berger was born in Hempstead, N.Y. He is married and has three children. His personal interests include writing, athletics, comedy, travel and photography.
